The world of The Rot was an intriguing setting I often return to in my sketchbooks and writings. The main influences were a combination of Dickens and Dore's London, the bleak imaginings of Peake, William S Burroughs and Alasdair Gray, and some of the long demolished alleyways from my hometown!
