Pencil compared to Photoshop

An example of how a pencil sketch can be enhanced and developed with Photoshop. This was a piece of my tattoo flash, actually designed to cover a potential client's old crappy tattoo, but I don't think the client ever came back for it. To get from the pencil rough to the digital design I mainly ran the pencil drawing through a few filters to get textures and then shaded and highlighted and slightly refined the result to achieve a realistic looking stony skin.
